Uptown Living in Downtown Dartmouth
This residential building contains underground parking, four floors of rental units, and a roof-top patio. It is one of several new buildings revitalizing the Downtown Dartmouth area.
This development incorporates a unique water drainage system that collects water from the shower, bathtub, and laundry facilities so the heat pumps can extract the residual heat and transfer it to the building’s in-floor radiant heating system for the lobby and hallways. Each suite has large, south-facing windows that promote and capture passive solar heat. Each suite also has its own heat pump, allowing residents to individualize temperature and subsequent power consumption. Each unit’s heat pump, combined with the building’s heat recovery and separate greywater systems, ensures that unit operating costs are significantly reduced.
