This project involved a 13 500-square-metre expansion to the airport terminal.
The project added new airline check-in counters; a new pre-board screening area; new passenger waiting areas; additional airside food & beverage facilities; and several additional gates. It also includes a new loading dock and goods storage area. A new service road was constructed to access this area.
This project demanded exceptional attention to site safety and security. Work also needed to be completed adjacent to active ticket counters, public concourse areas, the existing hold room and gates, and the airline offices without disrupting operational activities.
As construction manager, Marco was intensely involved throughout the pre-construction process, providing input on scheduling, cost analysis, value engineering, and constructability. Marco also oversaw the development of subcontractor trade packages and prepared the prequalification criteria for subcontractors as required by the owner.
