We are proud to announce that Marco has won the 2022 Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal Award. Presented at the 2022 CCA conference in Vancouver, this award recognizes our commitment to excellence in construction management, our support and promotion of employees’ success in achieving Gold Seal certification, and our efforts to incorporate the Gold Seal program into our business practices.

Gold Seal certification has been an important component of Marco’s corporate vision for years. “We recruit, retain, and develop the best construction professionals in the industry,” says President Allan MacIntosh, “and we look upon Gold Seal Certification as a statement of our commitment to excellence. We are proud to tell our clients their project will be managed by Gold Seal Certified personnel and we believe having a certified team of construction professionals inspires confidence from both owners and designers.”

40% of our eligible employees have achieved Gold Seal Certification, and an additional 25% are currently undergoing certification training and have enrolled as Gold Seal Interns. Two members of our team have also gone on to achieve Professional Gold Seal Certification (PGSC), and several more are in the process of completing the necessary education credits to achieve this designation.

We are proud to be a registered Gold Seal Contractor, and in 2021 we completed two Gold Seal projects: the MUN Core Science Facility in St. John’s, NL, and The Berkeley Retirement Residence in Halifax, NS. The MUN project was noteworthy as it was the first Gold Seal-certified project in Newfoundland and Labrador. We look forward to announcing yet another Gold Seal project in the very near future.

As an active member of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS), the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association (NLCA), and the Moncton Northeast Construction Association (MNECA), we actively work with these associations to promote the Gold Seal program whenever we can.
