Reflecting on a Year of Giving Back
At Marco, community has always been at the heart of what we do. In 2025, our team had the opportunity to contribute in meaningful, hands-on ways – supporting local organizations, volunteering time, and sharing a little extra care where it was needed most.
Throughout the year, our team regularly helped serve breakfast at Brunswick Street Mission in Halifax, and The Gathering Place in St. John’s. At both organizations, our team helped prepare and serve breakfast to those in need.
In Halifax, we visited Veith House Urban Farm, assisting with garden cleanup including raised beds, composting systems, and greenhouse maintenance that supports local food production. It was a chance to get outside, work together, and contribute to a space that benefits the wider community.
In Newfoundland, our team volunteered at Macdonald Drive Elementary, preparing and serving a pancake breakfast to students. We also supported events for Friendship Circle NL, helping children with autism and their families.
This holiday season, our teams worked together across Nova Scotia and Newfoundland to bring extra care to seniors and families in need. In Nova Scotia, gifts were purchased for seniors at Mahone Bay Nursing Home, and clothing and food donations were collected for Veith House. In Newfoundland, food hampers were prepared for school families, donations were collected for organizations including Iris Kirby House, and the Single Parents Association, and Christmas gifts were provided to seniors through Silver Santa.
Looking back, 2025 reminded us that even small contributions – whether time, hands-on help, or a simple gift – can have a meaningful impact. We are grateful for the opportunity to support our communities and look forward to finding more ways to give back in the year ahead!
