Indigenous Relations

At Marco, we are committed to fostering meaningful and enduring relationships with Indigenous communities across Atlantic Canada.

Our approach is guided by respect, collaboration, and a dedication to creating opportunities that honour Indigenous voices.

Land Acknowledgement

We at Marco live and work within the territories of the Peace and Friendship Treaties, the Wabanaki Confederacy (including the Mi'kmaq, Wolastoqiyik, Penobscot, and Passamaquoddy Nations), the Innu Nation, and Nunatsiavut. Through our actions we strive towards peace, friendship, and reconciliation.

Understanding

We believe that understanding is the foundation of respect. Marco provides ongoing cultural training for our employees and leadership to ensure our team appreciates the histories, traditions, and perspectives of the Indigenous peoples with whom we work.

Learning and Advocacy

We recognize the importance of acknowledging history and building a better future. Marco observes significant days, such as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, as part of our efforts to encourage reflection, education, and action. Through our digital presence, community engagement, and internal initiatives, we strive to amplify Indigenous voices and foster meaningful dialogue.

Shared Success

By creating opportunities for collaboration and growth, we are committed to supporting the vision of Indigenous communities. Together, we can build projects that not only meet immediate needs but also lay a foundation for long-term benefits.

We are proud to work with Indigenous partners and communities and welcome opportunities to strengthen these relationships. If you’re interested in collaborating with Marco, we invite you to connect with us.
