Marco Honoured with CCA Community Leader Award

Marco is proud to be recognized with the Community Leader Award from the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), an honour that celebrates the ways we give back to the communities we serve across Atlantic Canada. Our President, Allan MacIntosh, accepted the award at the CCA Annual Conference in San Diego, alongside CEO, Rod Ackerman, and Preconstruction Coordinator, Owen MacIntosh.

This award is a recognition of our team - of everyone who gives their time, energy, and expertise to support the communities we’re proud to be part of.

Since the beginning, Marco’s founders, Tom and Christopher Hickman, understood a simple truth: a company is only as strong as the community that sustains it. That philosophy continues to guide us today. Whether it’s a school where children learn, a hospital where families find care, or a sports arena where neighbours gather, we understand that the true value of these projects lies in the people and communities they serve.

Our commitment goes far beyond building projects. Marco employees volunteer their time and skills in local communities, we support youth employment, promote diversity and inclusion across trades and leadership roles, and champion environmentally sustainable practices. Through these efforts, we strive to create lasting, positive impact wherever we work.

At Marco, community leadership is not defined by a single project, but by a long-term commitment to supporting and strengthening the communities we are proud to be part of. This recognition from the Canadian Construction Association serves as a reminder of what can be achieved when a team comes together with purpose, passion, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute, and even more proud of the employees whose dedication brings our values to life.
